Jérôme Gauthier wins again

Amos, July 13, 2022 – Jérôme Gauthier, from team Québec won the second stage, sponsored by the Quebec government. He was applauded by the audience as he crossed the finish line, in his hometown, on his 18th birthday. Luke Fetzer from team USA was following him closely and won the silver medal, as Luc Mainguenaud, from the national team of France, won the third place.
The stage was marked by Julien Boule from team Québec and Renaud Tremblay from team Canada who were in a break away together for the most part of the race. The time gap went up to 1:10, but the peloton catched up to the break by the end of the stage. The riders had four laps of 5,4 km to do and it’s only by the last one that the bunch regrouped.
In general ranking, Luke Valenti, from Toronto Hustle Junior Cycling, won the polka dots jersey for the second day in a row. Justin Roy, from team Québec won the orange jersey, as Mathéo Barusseau from France kept the brown and the blue jerseys.

Thursday, July 14 will be two half stages. Stage 3 will be the individual time trial. The first start is at 9:30 am in front of the Cathedral park in Amos. The riders will go towards St-Maurice to complete 10 km. As of stage 4, it will be in Malartic, where the cyclists will do a round trip to Cadillac, for a total distance of 57,4 km. The start is at 6:15 pm in front the highschool Le Tremplin and the expected arrival is at 7:30 at the same place.
