Amos, July 14, 2022 – Today was a long day for the riders as they had two half stages. This morning was the individual time trial, sponsored by Eldorado Gold Québec, a decisive stage at the Tour de l’Abitibi, as it always deepens the time gap between the riders. Evan Boyle from team USA won the gold medal, followed by Mathieu Dupé from France and Carson Mattern from team Canada, who won the silver and bronze medal.

In general ranking, Mathieu Dupé took the brown jersey, as Justin Roy kept his orange and blue jerseys.

Stage 4, sponsored by Canadian Malartic Partnership was in Malartic, during which the peloton was chasing the whole ride, but no break was conclusive. A crash in the bunch disturbed the race just before the turn in Cadillac, and a second one just a few hundred meters before the finish line. Jérôme Gauthier and the orange jersey, Justin Roy were taken in the fall, but were both able to finish their race.

Mathieu Dupé continues his triumph by winning this fourth stage of the Tour de l’Abitibi, before Luke Fetzer from team USA who won the silver medal, and Gavin Hadfield from team Canada, who won bronze.

Dupé secured his brown jersey, while taking the orange jersey. The polka dots also stay in the hands of Luke Valenti from Toronto Hustle Junior Cycling, for the fourth stage in a row. As of Justin Roy, he managed to keep his blue jersey despite his fall, which stopped him just before the finish line.

Friday, July 15 will be the Senneterre stage, which is the longest of this edition of the Tour de l’Abitibi, with 140 km to do. The riders will do a loop between Senneterre and Val-d’Or. The start is at 2 pm in front of the town hall and the expected arrival is at 5 pm on top of Mont Bell.
