Amos, July 12, 2022<\/strong> \u2013 Math\u00e9o Barusseau from the national team of France won the first stage, sponsored by Agnico Eagle, followed by his teamate Mathieu Dup\u00e9, who got on the second step of the podium. As for the bronze medal, it\u2019s Justin Roy, from team Qu\u00e9bec who won it.<\/p>\n

J\u00e9r\u00f4me Gauthier, from Amos, was also one to look for during this stage, as he won one of the two mayor\u2019s sprints, and was part of a 13 riders break away, which went up to a 45 seconds time gap with the peloton. He got a puncture with about 30 km to go in the race, which got him back to the bunch. Gauthier still managed to go back to the front, and even chase the break away. However, this attempt was not conclusive.<\/p>\n

In general raking, Luke Valenti, from Toronto Hustle Junior Cycling, won the polka dot jersey, which is given to the best climber. As of Math\u00e9o Barusseau, he won the blue, orange and brown jerseys, which are respectively given to the best first year, to the points leader and to the time leader. The last rider to achieve this was Riley Pickrell in 2018.<\/p>\n

Stage 2, sponsored by the Qu\u00e9bec government<\/span>
\nWednesday, July 13, will be the second stage, during which the cyclists will ride between Val-d\u2019Or and Amos. The race will start in front of place Agnico Eagle at 4 :15 pm, and the arrival is expected to be around 7 :20 pm in front of the Amos cathedral, to complete a race of 116,9 km.<\/p>\n
